The Red Caboose Café has been family owned and operated since day one. We first opened our doors on August 14th, 1994 in a small store front located at Bullard and Minnewawa in Clovis, CA.
The café was the product of Teresa Weedin (now Claborn) and her brother-in-law Noel Freeman. Noel and his wife Anita had plenty of experience from running the old Iron Horse restaurants throughout Fresno. Where for years, Teresa was right there working beside them.
After 3 months of being open at the Clovis location as The Little Red Caboose, Richard and Teresa Claborn took over full ownership. It was a long road in the beginning with Teresa working seven days a week running the café and Richard commuting from his construction job in San Francisco to help Teresa on the weekends.
We have been blessed with a wonderful family to help support the business. Our son Jimmy Weedin has worked on and off for us since he was about fourteen and our daughter Pamela started when she was eleven. Over the years our family has grown and therefore our staff has as well.
Our customers have become like a part of our family but there is always room for more. We are grateful to every customer for helping to support our family and business during these hard economic times. It is because of you that we are able to continue to serve the community everyday.
